6:21 PM. Sitting in my car. In the rain.

So far and yet so near

I manage to find you each and every day

When I took the soppy steps to get here

A gentle presence

Fell upon me

Knew you were with me again

The warm droplets layered themselves into my hair and fell upon my shoulders

But I could feel your love in each of them

How can that be?

A love so powerful and divine that it's capable

Of distilling itself out of the individual and into the natural world

How can that not be?

Love is everything and

You love me more than everything

But to avoid sounding too philosophical or metaphorical

I'll leave it there

The bottom line is, and I'm sure you've gleaned the rest,

I love you infinitely more than this summer evening

And ten times more than every summer evening compounded

But since this one reminded me of you

It's all one and the same
