As If They'll Never End

I wanted to reach my hands out

Needed to go out and be among them

This deep, restless yearning

Acidic and biting, snapping at me

I rise when the light cracks through

Horizontal, vertical, no feet, two feet

I can feel it

There behind my eyes

The dull throb of a thought unfinished

Feel as though I'm near some finality

If I could just follow it through to the end

Where the lines converge to form the big picture

Never have been one for those

Pictures aren't really my deal at all

Much more fond of shuffling my feet

Thinking of words, going over what I'd say

If I could say anything at all

I won't, not today at least, not even a little

Vertical, horizontal

Let's do it over again
