Ghost, or On Living Unknown
I can't live without you
Warm, in and around,
Off your influence
You made it all not so difficult
But, with the comfort of relinquishing
Comes the discomfort of forgetting
This discomfort that drives me
Up, up, up
Never relenting, jib-jabbering
I can't remember, and in
My climbing and rising
Fog trails behind me
Suddenly, on impulse, quite by chance
I turn around
Where have I come from?
I stumble down to try and find the time
Spent with you or before you
Fog, gray, nothing left to be found
I look forward, to the side
Where have I ended–
Some erased fragment of memory
If I am surrounded by nothing,
And nothing is around to see me,
Do I live unknown?
