Walking Paradox

All you are is an amalgamation of

Niceties and unoriginal thoughts

Yet you smile

My life is not mine

It is the life of someone much more hopeful

He could smile

I am unremarkable but

Crave attention

So I speak

And no one smiles

Gone are the days of simplicity and promise

I have found myself in a wasteland of ideas

Somewhere nothing can grow

My mind is barren

Memories have been left behind

The only sounds are the resonance

Of my cries

And the whispers of those who can no longer

Understand me

Did I lose my creativity along with my innocence or was it stolen from me by some

Interlocutor

Either way it is gone

Either way I have no smile
