What's on Your Mind?
Here we lay
The gap between our souls
Sealed by the nonexistent distance
Between ourselves.
I lie next to you and
There is no such thing
As a misspeak
Between our minds.
Furthermore, we’ve
Found words optional–
Something to be used when
Our eyes get tired of talking.
Even so, I feel an outpour
From deep within me–
This massive, rushing spring of
Words, ideas, and emotions.
I stare at You or
The vast blackness of the sky or
The imperfections of the ceiling and
Let you into the recesses of myself.
When my back is strained
Or we’ve got an appetite
We’ll rise and walk, side by side,
And it’ll feel like
Nothing quite changed
My soul still sealed up with yours
And my mind and heart
Still pouring, gushing for You.
